SANOMEGA

Should SanOmega be taken with or without food?
We recommend taking the oil with food, but there is no rule that says you have to. It can vary slightly from person to person what they think is best. However, on an empty stomach, the body may use the oil as energy instead of building blocks. You will then get less effect from the product.

What is the dosage?
It depends on weight, height and physical activity. The recommended dose for most adults is 21 ml per day (5 g omega-3).

How much should children take?
Dosage will vary from sanomega product to sanomega product and the age of the child. We recommend children under 11 years of age to take SanOmega Classic or rEPAir capsules due to the high vitamin D content in SanOmega Premium.

What is it sweetened with?
Premium and Classic are sweetened with natural lemon and orange oil

Do we use natural ingredients?

SanOmega is natural fish oil from anchovies and sardines.

The raw materials are purchased from our supplier who meets the requirements of Friend of the Seas. This is our quality control. To achieve an optimal composition of fatty acids, different raw materials are blended into oils with different specifications

In Norway, fish oil must be purified (to remove heavy metals and other undesirable substances). In this process, the vitamins also disappear. These are added again after purification. We use vitamins from natural sources as far as possible.

Vitamin D3: Extracted from lanolin
Beta-carotene: Extracted from the algae Dunaliella salina
Vitamin A: Retinol palmitate
Vitamin E: Beta, gamma and delta tocopherols from plant oil
Vitamin K2: Natto pharma MK7
MCT: Extracted from coconut
Q10: Naturally fermented ubiquinone extracted from soy

Are there environmental toxins in it?
SanOmega is produced from selected high-quality fish oils. Only wild fish from sustainably managed stocks are used, and the process from catch to finished product is carefully controlled. The fish used are small fish, sardines and anchovies, which are low in the food chain and thus contain fewer environmental toxins than large fish high in the food chain. The oil is also purified (molecular distillation).

Should it be taken in the morning or evening?
The most important thing is to find something that fits in with your everyday life, but if you don't have a preference, we know that many people prefer to take it in the morning.

Why don't you have bigger bottles?

The reason why the bottles are not larger has to do with the oxidation of fatty acids and the breakdown of micronutrients. The more oxygen the oil is exposed to, the worse its shelf life. We have therefore chosen to give good discounts to our customers who order larger quantities. Many order SanOmega for 6-12 months as the shelf life of unopened bottles is very good (2 years from the date of production).

Why don't you use olive oil?

We used to use olive oil as a carrier oil because we thought it was a good idea. However, we're always learning something new and found that the oil went rancid quickly. You can easily test for yourself by tasting the "bottom splash" in a bottle of fish and olive oil and comparing it with a freshly opened bottle. In addition, we base this claim on measurements made in a laboratory. In olive oil you will find chlorophyll. Chlorophyll produces oxygen, which in turn reacts with the fish oil. Unsaturated fat is unstable, so we have much better experience of using MCT as a carrier oil. There are no other substances that can react with the fish oil. That said, we're big fans of olive oil! Just not mixed with the fish oil. In addition to chlorophyll, you'll also find a number of minerals in olive oil. For example, iron and copper. These will react when the oil is exposed to oxygen from the chlorophyll and opening the bottle.

SanMagnesium mineral powder

Should you take SanMagnesium mineral powder with food?

Yes, we recommend that you take SanMagnesium with your largest meal of the day. You need stomach acid to ionize the magnesium. A protein-rich meal provides more stomach acid.

I am a vegetarian. Can I take SanMagnesium?

Yes, you can. All the ingredients used in SanBalance are suitable for vegetarians.

Do I have to mix it in water?

You can mix SanMagnesium into yogurt, juice, smoothies and water. Choose cold liquids because of the water-soluble vitamins. These can be sensitive to temperature.

Is there folic acid in SanMagnesium mineral powder?

We use folate from a natural source in SanMagnesium. However, all forms of folate/folic acid must be declared on the label as folic acid according to Norwegian regulations for dietary supplements. The reason we use folate in SanMagnesium is that folate, vitamin B6 (p5p) and vitamin B12 have been shown to together reduce the amount of homocysteine in the blood, which in turn has been linked to reduced LDL cholesterol. We also want our supplement to be able to be used by women who are, or are planning to become, pregnant.

Why do we use magnesium hydroxide?

We have chosen magnesium hydroxide for two reasons. It is the form with the simplest reaction pathway for ionization using stomach acid. If you have a well-functioning stomach acid, it ionizes well and is easily absorbed. Magnesium is generally a poorly absorbable mineral, so a lot of things need to be right for good absorption. For the best possible absorption of magnesium hydroxide, we use vitamin C in the supplement and are very careful to recommend that you take it with a large meal.

The other reason we use hydroxide is the taste. When the magnesium is going to be in a powder like this, we need to have it in a form that tastes okay. If we used other types of magnesium, most people wouldn't be able to drink it. That's why these types are often put in capsules/pills. But then you have the problem that the pills/capsules do not dissolve in the stomach and do not come into contact with stomach acid. They are therefore not absorbed.

Used correctly, the absorption of the mineral balancing powder is better than most other powders on the market

Several studies indicate that as long as magnesium is absorbed from the intestine, it will increase in all body tissues, regardless of what form the magnesium was in when we ate it.

Of course, we work on the absorption in our supplements. Vitamin B6 in the form of P5P (active form), vitamin C and molybdenum are all important for absorption from the gut and into the cells.
